NCTRC accepts children and adults with physical, mental or emotional impairments who can safely participate in our riding activities.
Our Schedule
NCTRC is pleased to offer horseback riding year-round. See our 2008
schedule of classes. Hippotherapy
sessions are scheduled individually and may extend more than eight weeks.
Cost
An eight-week session of riding classes costs $240 for group classes and $360
for private lessons. The cost of Hippotherapy is $85 for a 45 minute
session. Of that fee, $30 is paid to NCTRC in advance for the use of the
horse or pony and the arena time while the remaining $55 per visit will be
billed by the therapist following the treatment session(s). Where
possible, the therapist will directly bill insurance for this portion of the
cost. Financial assistance may be available for the portion of fees paid
to NCTRC, for therapeutic riding and hippotherapy, based on individual need.

Application Process
The first step toward participating in a NCTRC session is to complete and return
the application
and rider
questionnaire and have your physician complete the medical
form and return them to the address on the form. These forms are
available by clicking on the links or call 919-304-1009 to request an application
via mail. Once we have received all forms, we will contact
you to schedule an evaluation. The cost of the evaluation is $45 dollars.
During the evaluation, we will
ensure that our program is appropriate for you and that there are no
contraindications to your participation. We will discuss our services to
determine how we can best meet your needs. We will also conduct a brief
evaluation on the horse. Following the evaluation and the determination
that we can safely accommodate you, you will be eligible to register for our
next riding session.
